I want to let you know the impact of your support for texting and phone banking and other outreach efforts such as postcarding in rural areas such as southside Virginia. We had a sudden special election come up for state in early 2024, with only 25 calendar days from the announcement to the election to get people out to vote. The timing was over the Christmas and New Year's holidays, further compounding the challenge of getting election information to voters. The Center for Common Ground, through Reclaim Our Vote, stepped in to provide text and phone bank support to our area. It made a difference! I am an election official and heard multiple voters on election day say they would not have known there was an election if they had not gotten that text or phone call.

Back in 2021, postcard volunteers wrote to rural Georgians to promote a listening campaign. During COVID-19, I worked to arrange meetings in primarily rural areas where people were being charged insanely high electricity rates. The postcards invited people to attend town hall meetings and testify about their experiences. 90% of the attendees showed up because they had received a postcard. Some people received the postcard right before the meeting and found the message impactful enough to attend. Some even came to the town hall with the postcard in their hands!
